Here are a couple of the looks my make-up colleague Hannah and I created at the Jemma Kidd Make-Up School.

Bridal - Princessy

I decided to show what I think is a little girls dream bridal look. Frosty, bright lids, precise feline shaped liquid eyeliner (to and bottom lids). Groomed brows, subtle contouring, matt powder-pink blusher and candyfloss lips finished with gloss.

What makes this really princessy is the half-false lashes. In my opinion this make-up wont easily date, and will suit everyone.

Occasion - Dark Metallic Eyes Red Lips

This is an 80's inspired look, - a bit Robert Palmer. The modern twist comes in graduating the metallics, and blending them skillfully.

High shimmer pigments like these use here are best applied with a small amount of cream, eye base or Vaseline on the lid. It helps the shimmer to stick without falling onto your cheeks, and aids blending!

The 80's was the decade of countouring - with sharply defined cheekbones, angular jaws and noses. Ive been heavier than usual with the contouring in this picture - it takes confidence to carry.

Occasion - Playful Colours

This look is inspired by colours from the sixties and seventies - pouty pink lips and lashings of blue eyeshadow.

Colours like this dont have to look overdone - skip the liners (eye and lips), apply with a light hand, and keep your hair as unfussy as you can.

Hello.

This is one of my versions of the traditional 'smoky eye'.

This make up can be livened up with any bright colour on the lid, whilst still keeping with the heavy dark line on the lash line.

Bridal - Semi Dramatic Eyes

When choosing a make-up look, its important to choose one, at most two areas of emphasis.

For bridal make-up, I love to make eyes the emphasis. I trial this look on most people and they love it - it can be varied by using liquid eyeliner, kohl, or eyeshadow with a liner brush - to give varying degrees of 'precision' from a highly polished, through to softer eyes.

On my face in this picture Ive applied some very subtle face contouring, a soft pinky/peach on the lips and cheeks, with semi-dramatic eyeshadow. The eyes use a combination of browns and creams shaded to emphasise the eye socket to make the eyes 'pop', and using gel liner to further draw emphasis to the eyes.

The overall effect is a soft look through the rest of the face that draws attention to the eyes making them look larger and wider set.

Clinique Spring Ad Campaign Look

The Clinique ad campaign for its 'Nude Blush' collection is a good example of a really modern, pretty make-up look that suits lots of different colourings and would be a great bridal look.

Ive recreated the look on myself using similar colours. Remember that its possible to create any look and use any colours on most skin tones - its just a case of finding the right shade and tone.

Hi there reader.

This is my first post on a blog - ever. Many times Ive started, but this will be the first I have finished.

I believe that the biggest thing that stands between a non-celebrity womans appearance and celebrities', is a make-up artist. To have someone on-hand at any occasion to perfectly define your features and enhance your complexion is the biggest beauty secret of the female celebrity.

With the right tools, products and some practice - every woman can achieve as much glamour and perfection as she wants, and I want to help women in this process!
